Our work environment

Our work environment is a blend of the traditional and the new. At our two head offices in Zurich and Berne, our teams work in prestigious buildings that combine historical architecture with modern facilities and technology.

In addition, with our eight delegates for regional economic relations, we have representatives throughout Switzerland who maintain close links to businesses in the relevant region. Since 2013, we have also had a representative office in Singapore, in order to closely monitor Asian financial markets and manage some of our currency reserves.

SNB - Banking in a different dimension

Attractive conditions and fringe benefits

Working at the SNB requires individual responsibility, commitment and motivation. To facilitate this, we create conditions that motivate our employees and offer them an optimal basis for professional and personal success.

Our employees benefit from attractive conditions on our banking services. We also offer discounts via Reka as well as a half fare travelcard.

Market and performance-based wages, as well as pay equality between the sexes, are a matter of course for us. We pay all employees according to role, experience and performance.

Remuneration is supplemented by favourable pension benefits, including attractive conditions for full-time and part-time employees and an appropriate contribution from the SNB. Various pension models, such as a flexible retirement age, allow employees to plan their work lives according to their individual circumstances.

Our staff restaurants in Zurich and Berne, known as the Culinarium, ensure enjoyment and well-being in everyday working life, offering fresh, balanced cuisine.

Our Hasliberg centre in the Bernese Oberland, situated at over 1,000 metres above sea level, serves as a venue for training courses and team events, as well as for meetings with other central banks. It also offers our employees the opportunity to relax in a peaceful setting.

Because work and life belong together

We value personal responsibility, independent thought and action, and a high level of motivation. At the same time, we create conditions that reconcile work and private life - whether that involves child-minding, caring for relatives, pursuing a hobby or working on personal development.

In order to accommodate a range of lifestyles, we offer flexible working time models, part-time options and home office solutions, depending on the role and area of responsibility. This gives employees the freedom to configure their work arrangements in a way that suits their particular situation.

The SNB offers parents paid maternity and paternity leave in excess of the statutory minimum, additional family allowance for those with dependent children, and free counselling through our membership of the profawo association, which supports employees in arranging childcare and caring for relatives.

All open positions are advertised on our job board. Keep up to date with our opportunities by subscribing to our job mail.

Santé - because well-being and health matter

Our employees' health is crucial, as it is the foundation on which their well-being, motivation and ability to perform is built.

Our occupational health management programme, Santé, takes a holistic approach and offers a wide range of measures to promote health and well-being.

A healthy mind in a healthy body: In line with this old adage, we offer activities at our in-house sports club, opportunities for relaxation, workshops on health topics, ergonomically designed workplaces, and healthy nutrition at our staff restaurant.
