Privacy statement for events
Introduction
In this privacy statement, the Swiss National Bank (SNB) provides information on the handling of personal data it processes in connection with the organisation and conduct of events.
Personal data is all information which can, either on its own or together with other information, be attributed to an identified or identifiable natural person.
Case-specific agreements, conditions and further privacy statements may also apply. Furthermore, the 'General privacy statement of the SNB', which can be accessed on the SNB's website or requested from the SNB's Data Protection Officer, contains additional information on the processing of personal data.
Data of third parties
Personal data pertaining to persons other than yourself is referred to as 'personal data of third parties'. Please note that you may only disclose the personal data of third parties in this registration form if you have informed the third party concerned in advance about the privacy notices and conditions and they have, if required by law, agreed to the data processing (in particular image/sound recordings and inclusion in the list of participants).
Which categories of personal data are processed?
In the context of events, the SNB processes the following personal data in particular:
- contact and identification data, such as last name, first name, role, company/organisation, address, email address, telephone number and copy of proof of identity;
- event-related data as well as data related to services, such as information about participation in the event, personal preferences, special requirements or restrictions, attendance and absence, as well as information about presentations, workshops or other specific activities;
- image, video and sound recordings;
- data for the provision of services, provided either by the SNB or by third parties, e.g. accommodation, logistics;
- payment information, e.g. bank details or credit card details, if required;
- other personal data that you, your employer, or subcontractors of your organisation provide to the SNB or to service providers commissioned or arranged by the SNB.
Purpose of data processing
Personal data in connection with SNB events is collected and processed for the following purposes in particular:
- organising, conducting and following up internal and external events, including communication, providing registration options, access control, drawing up participant lists, security arrangements, event analysis, feedback and improvements, and similar activities;
- public relations and documentation of events and activities in the scope of the SNB's tasks and activities; Images, videos and sound recordings are created and edited for this purpose. While respecting the rights of data subjects, the SNB publishes selected images in informational material, newspapers, print media and television broadcasts, as well as on the SNB website and social media platforms (e.g. LinkedIn, X, YouTube). Please note that additional data protection provisions of the respective providers apply when using external services or platforms (e.g. social media platforms), and we recommend that you check these. The SNB also stores sound recordings, images and videos for archiving purposes in the public interest.
- payment processing for paid events, services or products;
- purposes in accordance with the 'General privacy statement of the SNB', which can be accessed on the SNB's website or obtained from the SNB's Data Protection Officer.
Under which circumstances is personal data disclosed and to which countries is personal data disclosed?
At certain events, participant lists are drawn up or circulated in other ways.
