The Swiss National Bank (SNB) takes on some 40 interns each year. The internships are located in all three departments of the SNB. The activities of these departments are as follows: Department I prepares monetary policy decisions and handles the area of international monetary cooperation. Department II is responsible for issuing banknotes and the stability of the financial system. Department III implements monetary policy on the markets and manages the currency reserves. Information technology is also located in this department. You will find more detailed information on how the departments are broken down into organisational units in our organisational chart.
Internships are offered in the areas of economics, international monetary cooperation, financial stability, financial markets and information technology. In the sub-section 'Staff portrait', supervisors and interns write about their jobs and experiences.
When filling our internship positions, we take applications into account received in response to advertisements for the positions. Potential interns should fulfil the following requirements:
- Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree
- Available for a minimum of six months
- Linguistic abilities in German, French and English
