Reporting violations of regulations by former employees
As in any other company, irregularities - whatever their cause - can never be completely ruled out. The SNB therefore has a low-threshold reporting system that enables reports on regulation violations to be received via various reporting channels.
The SNB also makes it possible for former employees to report suspected regulation violations. Such violations include breaches of the law and of internal guidelines and regulations (Code of Conduct, regulations and directives). At issue are violations committed by SNB employees in connection with their professional activities at the SNB or by third parties in the course of their business dealings with the SNB. Reports can help prevent regulation violations or detect them as early as possible. Addressing these openly yields opportunities for learning and improvement and reduces risks in the future.
Reports are handled - and if necessary investigated - by the Compliance unit. If there is reason to believe that Compliance staff are involved in the reported matter or may otherwise have a conflict of interest, reports are to be submitted to the Chair of the Audit Committee by letter.
In any event, if necessary, the SNB shall take precautions to ensure that it is not possible to infer the identity of the person submitting the report. Exceptions are made if the SNB is required to disclose such information by law or on the basis of an official order. The report may also be submitted anonymously.
After leaving the SNB, the following reporting channels are available to you:
- Telephone: +41 58 631 31 31 (Monday-Friday from 8.30 am to 12.00 pm and from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm)
- Email: regelverstoss@snb.ch
- Letter: Personal/Confidential, Swiss National Bank, Head of Compliance, Börsenstrasse 15, P.O. Box, 8022 Zurich, or, in the event of a conflict of interest as mentioned above: Personal/Confidential, Swiss National Bank, Chair of the Audit Committee, Börsenstrasse 15, P.O. Box, 8022 Zurich
