The report on direct investment provides a commentary on developments in Switzerland’s direct investment abroad as well as foreign direct investment in Switzerland.

Annual data, broken down by country and sector, are available from 1985 in the case of capital stocks, and from 1986 in the case of capital outflows and inflows. Aggregate quarterly data for capital outflows and inflows are available from 1999 without any geographical breakdown, while aggregate quarterly data for capital stock are available from 2000, again without any geographical breakdown. Current data on direct investment are published in the Monthly Statistical Bulletin (in the Q3, R, and S sections).

Languages, form of publication

The report is available on the SNB website in German, French and English. The statistics are published in the December issue of the Monthly Statistical Bulletin.

The printed version of the report on direct investment is available together with the Monthly Statistical Bulletin. Individual copies are available free of charge.
