Monetary policy for the classroom
Input "The National Bank"
Intended as a teaching aid for the classroom, the publication "The National Bank" provides an overview of the Swiss National Bank’s monetary policy, its other tasks, its organisation and history. The main topics include the role of money in the economy, the impact of monetary policy on the economic situation and the practical implementation of monetary policy. In addition, the brochure features an interview with Jean-Pierre Roth, Chairman of the Governing Board of the Swiss National Bank.
Written by the journalist Carl Wild, the brochure was published as part of the "Input" series (no. 5/2005) of the "Jugend und Wirtschaft" association. An e-lesson, consisting of five modules and teacher’s notes, is available in addition to the brochure. The entire teaching aid kit is available in German, French and Italian only.
