Banker to the Confederation
When private individuals or companies need banking services, they go to their own bank. The Confederation can obtain its banking services from the National Bank. It holds accounts at the National Bank for making payments. Confederation bonds are issued by the National Bank; and the National Bank advises the federal government on financial matters and helps it to invest money temporarily.
