Protection for savings

The banks manage a very large amount of money and therefore carry a great responsibility. For this reason, Switzerland has a law (the Federal Law on Banks and Savings Banks, or "Banking Law" for short) to protect savers and to ensure that the banks have sufficient liquid funds. The Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA, also supervises the banks and makes sure that they remain trustworthy.

Savings in Switzerland are protected by the Banking Law. The Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA also supervises the activities of the banks.
